Less Booty, More Richard Wagner
I like how the archive has put 2 trailers of the same movie on here, so we can compare the two. Well, this is NOT the Cinemascope trailer. Nope, here we just have lame publicity shots of the actors who star the movie, and some silly paintings of some action sequences from the movie. So, in other words, youre getting far less action here. I think the reason for this trailer vs the other one, is that the Cinemascope trailer was made for cinemas that already had the process installed. This trailer, maybe was used for Cinemas that did have it (otherwise why would they be showing it as a coming attraction?) but were not using it for that particular movie. As for why they didnt use sequences from the movie in it, again, since the movie was in Cinemascope, perhaps the producers didnt want to transfer any of the film stock for use in the trailer to a 1:33 ratio. Just a theory.

No Cinemascope (or Stills, Even) for You Naughty Viewers!
Watch the other trailer for Beneath the 12-Mile Reef first. This one will make you appreciate the first oneÂs Cinemascope underwater vistas, as it only has cheap-looking illustrations of underwater vistas, not even actual stills from the film! The 14-year-old boy in all of us will snicker at the trailerÂs claim of ÂThe Most Awesome Underwater Climax Ever Filmed! Cheesy and therefore fun. Ratings: Camp/Humor Value: ****. Weirdness: ****. Historical Interest: ****. Overall Rating: ****.
